M.Sc. – Applied Psychology

Through a combination of courses in arts and law subjects, the Programme is designed in keeping with the latest Bar Council of India rules and the University Grants Commission prescriptions and aims at fostering a culture of scholarship and academic excellence amongst the students. The focus of the programme is laid on developing argumentative skills, understanding the relationship between the law and society, legal drafting and honing critical analytical skills. 

Students may be awarded credits for undertaking co-curricular activities which allow them to develop legal reasoning skills and enhance their understanding of the law. Credits earned on account of permissible co-curricular activity will count towards the total 200 credits required to be awarded a B.A.LL.B  degree. In addition the inclusion of experiential learning by means of guest lecturers visits in the parliament jail moot courts internship with top law firms advocates and legal organisations help the students in acquiring the experience to deal with real-world legal problems.

• Deep and broad knowledge of sources of legal rules, concepts, ethics, legal practice, methods of legal reasoning and contexts including general, specialised, comparative and global laws.
• Legal thinking and application towards problem solving and dispute resolution; researching, identifying and applying legal principles to complex business and in governance and interdisciplinary contexts.
• Professionalism, scholarship, leadership skills with sound knowledge of role, responsibility, public interest, preparedness to lead law reforms, to demonstrate highest professional standard and readiness to engage in a wide variety of public service in law jobs, entrepreneurship through research, skills and knowledge.
• Legal communication skills including persuasive oral and written forms such as Drafting, mooting, advocacy and, team work, collaboration and networking.
• Intercultural and ethical competence to secure social justice, global citizenship and community legal care.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the environment and the disadvantaged; practice cultural sensitivity in diverse national and international contexts to handle ethical dilemmas.

The applicant must be an Indian national residing in India and have completed full-time education in an Indian school during the preceding two years. They should have secured a minimum of 50% overall aggregate in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State/Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
